Define old terms and dreaming of what the New Year could possible hold

12.30.13 on the brink of emerging into 2014 - some personal hopes, aspirations, and dreams start to rise. Some of these desires challenge core western principles about how leadership is deified. Leadership is currently accredited to a central figure such as a CEO or president. However what if a team of individuals co-lead an organization? Each co-founder specializing in one area of expertise so that the entire team benefits. Much like outrigger canoe paddling team where each boat hold six paddlers yet each paddlers can stroke in any position. A business model would be the structure of lean Managment. Within the home a parents would co-lead and the family would act as a unit. If power is placed upon one individual what if they crumble? If the power is distributed amongst a team think of the potential and how much farther they could reach? Here's to refining things and unlocking place potential caps! Here's to dreaming as a team and 2014

A health perspective restored as I cut away the masquerade

12.29.13 maybe is the years gone bye, age, or life teaching me a lesion or two. Some would accredited it to faith while others to time - this evening I sat talking story with my aging parents to realize how much I cherish them...my family....my friends.... Yes, I see their faults, know their shortcomings, and defiantly know how to push their button like no other. Yes, the reverse is true as well! Bottom line: somewhere through the hardship, hell, and joy of life - a deep respect and honor have be found. Yes, forgiveness has happened on both side and now I've started laugh at what I perceive to be shortcomings in others via my western mindset. Here's to family! Here's to the emotional hell and joy we can bring each other! And most of all here's to the journey and second chances life seems to offer! So now it's time to unplug and go be with them....

Stressed and discovered peace in a very simple place

12.28.13 as M and I went on a slow morning exploratory walk around Kailua beach park. We came upon a flower patch behind the aged park bench and she decided to sit among the flowers and sing a random song. I watched in amazement of the pure freedom within her mind that was at perfect peace within that moment; while, I often wrestle with various stresses of life. Why, is my internal peace robbed by small circumstances? How, can I have a child's freedom within an adults reality? Or is peace and mental health found within cherishing the moment? Here's to the margin! To the moments of stillness, joy, and pure peace.

Awakened to the beauty before me

12.27.13 as the crisp trade winds sent a small chill down my spine I was stunned or should I say a bit more awakened to the vivid colors of this mornings sunrise.  Within a second something in my mind shifted and now I was able to take in the fullness of the moment.  I don't have a two or three step solution - just a simply chill / mental shift within a moment that allowed me to be at peace with all that my day holds and see the beauty before me.

How I'm at peace & enjoy the closing moments in a day

12.26.13 sunset at Kailua beach park is so much more enjoyable after a hard run (8.35pace) and nice buoy swim. Physically and mentally exhausted and at peace makes for a very beautiful sunset no matter where I did myself. Now for a bit of shopping at the farmers market and a evening story time with the kids with hopes of some romance.

Post work surf thoughts about the most important thing I did today

12.23.13 headed out for a late evening surf session - had to take this snap as M & J were talking about the bed surf spot!  MIA from the snap is Ry as he is already in the water!  After the sunset and we packed up I was reminded how important it is to make time for the things that fill me up. Despite a long day at work and "feeling" exhausted - the absolute best thing I could have done was get in the water.

Today's clarity and direction for tomarrow

Some would say clarity comes from coming in line with Gods path for your life - but how does one discover that path? What if God remains silent? Others would say a person forges their own path - so then it only matter what one is willing to do to attain that goal. So does clarity come from religion or ones own fate? Clarity comes along the path of life as we travel to some while others wonder in confusion. Some live within a western Christian mindset where God is much like a lucky rabbits foot or a good luck charm, but Jesus himself did not live a life for prosperity or followers but one dedicated to others and the greater good. Some would say Nelson Mandela was a type of Christ or had a heart much like Christ when looking at the legacy he left behind.

Where do you find clarity for tomarrow?

Surrounded by a brightly colored rainbow

12.19.13 driving home from work today I found myself surrounded by wind, rain, sunshine, and this brightly colored rainbow.  A rainbow is an optical and meteorological phenomenon that is caused by both reflection and refraction of light in water droplets in the Earth's atmosphere, resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. It takes the form of a multicoloured arc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the sun.

Did you know: All rainbows are full circles, however, the average observer only sees approximately the upper half of the arc: 'the illuminated droplets above the horizon from the observers line of sight'.

In a "primary rainbow", the arc shows red on the outer part and violet on the inner side. This rainbow is caused by light being refracted (bent) when entering a droplet of water, then reflected inside on the back of the droplet and refracted again when leaving it.

In a double rainbow, a second arc is seen outside the primary arc, and has the order of its colours reversed, red facing toward the other one, in both rainbows. This second rainbow is caused by light reflecting twice inside water droplets.
